4K refers to the resolution of 3840x2160 or 4096x2160, the width of the signal can not reach 3840 can not be called 4K, the height can not reach 2160 can not be called 4K. 4K signal also has different differences, such as frame rate is 30Hz or 60Hz, color space is YUV or RGB, etc., these are very good for the display effect of display devices These are very good for the display of the display device to bring the difference in picture quality contrast obvious.
Frame rate: 30Hz or 60Hz
HDMI 1.4 standard maximum frame rate is 30Hz, that is, 30 frames per second transmission of images, while HDMI 2.0 this parameter is the maximum 60Hz, that is, 60 frames per second transmission of images. 60 fps parameter than 30 fps twice as high, better picture quality and detail, the higher the frame rate, the more smooth the picture, the most intuitive experience can be reflected, fast moving perspective, 60 fps residual image is much smaller than 30 fps, the higher the value. The higher the value, the closer the picture is to the real world as observed by the human eye.
The difficulty of 4K 60Hz processing is the large amount of data and high bandwidth, the point frequency of ordinary 1920x1080 60Hz is 148MHz, while the point frequency of 4K 60Hz is 594MHz, which requires high signal transmission and processing.

Color space 4:4:4 or 4:2:2
In recent contacts with signal processing vendors, many of them started to emphasize that their color space is 4:4:4, what is this thing?
Actually, for 4K, color space is also a very important parameter. The most applied are RGB and YUV formats, which are both a color coding method YUV. YUV and RGB methods can be converted to each other, and RGB represents the same red, green and blue, YUV three letters represent the luminance signal and U, V two kinds of color difference signal respectively.

Here, first of all, YUV, 4:4:4, representing the YUV these three signal sampling storage methods, in addition to 4:4:4, there are common 4:2:2, 4:2:0, 4:1:1 three sampling formats. A simple understanding is that the 4:4:4 signal is lossless, richer in information and better picture color, but it requires very high storage space and transmission bandwidth. The other three ways are compressed for color in order to save bandwidth and storage space. Most of what we called 4K before is 4:2:2.
The YUV compression method has an inherent advantage over RGB in that it can separate the contour and color information and compress only the color without affecting the contour.
The Y signal is Luma, which represents the luminance information, and intuitively, the contour. Whether it is 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 or 4:1:1, the luminance Y corresponds to 4, which means that there is no compression of the contour information, and the compression is all about the color information, that is, the U and V signals. YUV compression of color is really a cost-effective way to compress, but as technology continues to develop and the needs of viewers improve, YUV4:4:4 is becoming more and more common.
